BRISTOL.- 25 original, never-before-seen print photographs by Fidel Castros personal photographer Alberto Korda are set to auction on Thursday, June 23.
The 25 photographs depict Fidel Castro and other Cuban revolutionaries in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
They include photographs of Fidel Castro making impassioned speeches and playing baseball, as well as gun-toting, cigar-smoking revolutionaries.
They form a collection of 130 original print photos of Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and Che Guevara set to auction with
Paul Fraser Collectibles for an estimated £50,000+.
73 of the original prints were taken by Korda.
Kordas celebrated shot of Che Guevara has appeared on posters and T-shirts the world over.
Paul Fraser, founder of Paul Fraser Collectibles, comments: This is just remarkable. Here are 25 previously unknown photographs by the man who did more than any other to showcase the Cuban revolution to the world.
Korda travelled everywhere with Fidel Castro.
Weve seen how limited-edition prints of Kordas well-established Cuban photographs are hugely popular at auction. Yet this auction offers something far rarer. As such, were anticipating huge interest.
The photograph collection is one of 40 lots of rare Cuban history that feature in the Fidel Castro & Che Guevara Personal Property Collection Auction.
Superb provenance
The photographs were acquired by the present owner at the estate sale of Fidel Castro's mistress Natty Revuelta Clews (1926-2015), between December 2015 and July 2016.
