ASPEN, CO.- Christie’s seasonal residency program returns to Aspen for summer 2022, now taking place in a new location in the core of the city. The building is a creation of Annabelle Selldorf, renowned architect who also designed the new galleries at Christie’s New York in Rockefeller Center. The stunning new Rocky Mountain outpost is a two-story, 2,635 square-foot state-of-the-art gallery boasting a striking exterior, beautiful finishes, and polished cement floors. Mere blocks from the gondola, restaurants, shops, and the Aspen Art Museum, the building is in the heart of downtown. It features an outdoor sculpture garden space and gorgeous sunlight filled rooms with views of Aspen Mountain.

Bonnie Brennan, President, Christie’s Americas, remarks, “It is our pleasure to welcome the Aspen community back to Christie’s pop-up residency for a series of exciting exhibitions this summer, now taking place in a fantastic new location—a building designed by esteemed architect Annabelle Selldorf in 2017. We look forward to activating this beautiful two-story gallery space with our robust schedule of programming this season.”

Christie’s has been active in the Aspen community for over 20 years with a rich history of pop-up exhibitions, artist conversations, film screenings, art collector dinners, philanthropic partnerships and more. This summer will feature a robust schedule of programming, tied to local events including the Aspen Music Festival.

Anderson Ranch

Christie’s is proud to continue its partnership with Anderson Ranch Arts Center, a local arts organization that enriches lives with art, inspiration and communication. For over half a century, Anderson Ranch has opened its doors to everyone with a passion for the arts. They maintain an intentional focus on ensuring inclusion in the community to those who have been historically underrepresented based on race/ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, socioeconomic status, geography, citizenship status, or religion. They remain committed to strengthening our understanding of equity and diversity by listening to the community’s needs, researching rich and diverse artistic programming, partnering with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and cultural organizations, and providing education for our staff, faculty, and board. Christie’s is proud to be a Corporate Sponsor for the Anderson Ranch’s 2022 Recognition Week, and support in the annual Recognition Dinner taking place on Thursday, July 14.

Capera Ryan, Deputy Chairman, Christie’s remarks, “For decades, Christie’s has built a strong presence in Aspen, developing lasting relationships with the local arts community. It is a thrill to reengage with our incredible partners, including Anderson Ranch, as we look toward summer 2022.”

Peter Waanders, President and Chief Executive Officer, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, comments, "Anderson Ranch Arts Center is able to flourish as a place for contemporary art making and dialog because of the generous support from partners such as Christie's. For many years, Christie's has participated in the Ranch's premier fundraising efforts that lead to the advancement of high caliber workshops, artist residencies, visiting artist projects, exhibitions, scholarship programs and community outreach. We look forward to growing our relationship with Christie's and are thrilled to be partnering again to support this summer's Recognition Week fundraising efforts."
