PLYMOUTH, MASS.- Creations Theo Fabergé will debut its commemorative decorative art piece Mayflower Egg, the only of its kind in the United States. This extraordinary piece will be on display for its world launch aboard Plimoth Patuxet Museum’s Mayflower II on June 11-12th at the State Pier in Plymouth, MA, as part of the Mayflower II’s Sapphire Jubilee.

In 1620, the original Mayflower set out on a journey that would start a nation. Sixty-five years ago, in 1957, Mayflower II, Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ full-scale reproduction of the tall ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth, made that same transatlantic journey in a show of friendship and alliance between the United States and the United Kingdom following World War II.

In honor of these two journeys, Creations Theo Fabergé is launching the Mayflower Egg. Reflecting on the Pilgrims transatlantic crossing 400 years ago, the story comes full circle with an inspired design created by one of England’s greatest contemporary artisans, Theo Fabergé. A limited edition of 200 pieces worldwide, Theo’s conceptual ‘objet d’art’ is crafted from ocean blue hued crystal, precious metals and gems.

Theo Fabergé was the last surviving grandson of Carl Fabergé, the original Jeweler to the Royals who created the renowned and now priceless Imperial Easter Eggs.

Following a multi-million dollar restoration, Mayflower II was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places for its association with the founding story of the United States. Under Plimoth Patuxet’s stewardship, millions of visitors have crossed her decks to learn about a defining moment in the founding story of the United States.

Mayflower II's 65th Sapphire Jubilee Anniversary, marking her 1957 arrival in Plymouth Harbor, is taking place June 11-13, 2022. Throughout the weekend of June 11-12, admission tickets to visit the ship will include access to family games, creative crafts, live music, festive food, and views of the Mayflower Egg. Additionally, on the evening of Saturday, June 11, Plimoth Patuxet will host a Seaside Soirée to celebrate the ship and raise funds in support of Mayflower II's maintenance and educational mission. The anniversary festivities close on Monday, June 13 with a special ceremony of commemoration to honor Mayflower II’s builders and 1957 crew.
