HONG KONG.- Christie’s Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art Spring Auctions in Hong Kong will take place on 30 May 2022. This season features the dedicated, single-owner auction Celestial Brilliance - The Wang Xing Lou Collection of Imperial Qing Dynasty Porcelain, and the leading lot of the season – A Magnificent and Extremely Rare Large Doucai Vase – to be offered in the highly anticipated Important Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art sale, which will showcase an exceptional selection of magnificent and important Chinese treasures from private collections and institutions.

The standalone Celestial Brilliance The Wang Xing Lou Collection of Imperial Qing Dynasty Porcelain sale presents an exquisite selection of 28 pieces of Imperial porcelain from three of the most prominent reigns of the Qing Dynasty: Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong. This long-awaited collection has not been seen at auction for over two decades, and is sure to generate much excitement in the saleroom. The Important Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art sale will showcase a key highlight – A Magnificent And Extremely Rare Large Doucai Vase – which is from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute of Utica, New York. Proceeds from the sale of the lot will benefit The Helen Munson Williams Acquisition Fund, solely for the purchase of artworks for the institute’s permanent collection (please click HERE for the dedicated press release). Other highlights include A Rare Imperial Zitan and Hardwood Gilt-lacquered Throne from Qing Dynasty, 18th – 19th Century, constructed of the finest and rarest materials and of the highest possible workmanship from the Qing Dynasty; and an extraordinary Carved White Jade ‘Scholar In Landscape’ Brush Pot from the Qianlong Period (1736-1795), hailing from the Quincy Chuang Collection, an important collection consisting of 30 lots of impressive jade carvings, enameled wares, and porcelain from the passionate collector, Mr. Quincy Chuang.
