GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY in Glen Cove, NY will present their next Spring Multiple Estates auction on Saturday, April 23rd at 10am. a two-part fresh-to-market sale of Fine Art, Collectibles, Furniture, Antiques, Silver, Decorative Arts and Jewelry, all curated from prominent East Coast estates and private collectors all over the Northeast. Previews will be held on Wednesday, April 20th, Thursday, April 21st and Friday, April 22nd from 10am - 6pm.

In the spotlight this month are a group of exquisite Demente Chiparus bronze sculptures, including a Demetre Chiparus (Romanian, 1886-1947) "Starfish" - Bronze Sculpture, patinated, gilt and cold painted bronze figure of a dancer, on a marble base, circa 1925. [18" H x 7 1/4" W x 3 1/2" D]. Estimate $10,000 - $15,000 and a Demetre Chiparus (Romanian, 1886-1947) "Vested Dancer" Bronze Sculpture, patinated, gilt and cold painted bronze figure of a dancer, on a marble base, circa 1925. [21" H x 7 1/2" W x 3 1/4" D]. Estimate $6,000 - $8,000.

Throughout the auction, some exquisite contemporary and antique furniture pieces are being offered, including a Robert Couturier Modern Mirrored Sideboard, contemporary concave-mirrored three door sideboard with mirror inset panels and a mirror inset top, by Robert Couturier. [36" H x 72" W x 19" D]. Estimate $2,000 - $3,000, a pair of Maison Jansen French Tables, faux tortoise and inlaid faux ivory inlay tables; stamped "Jansen". [24" H x 17" W x 29" D]. In good condition. Estimate $2,000 - $3,000, an unusual Antique Mahogany Cockfight Chair, mahogany, red leather-upholstered, nailhead-trimmed cockfight / voyeuse chair with a table back, having pull-out holders on arms. [33" H x 30" W x 24" D]. In good condition. Estimate $400 - $600 and an American Classical Mahogany Games Table, carved mahogany games table, in the style of the Philadelphia maker Joseph Barry (1780-1840), the revolving top inlaid with rosewood and brass, circa 1820. [29" H x 35 1/2" W x 18" D]. In good condition. Estimate $2,000 - $3,000.

In addition, a Modern Shagreen Top Iron Console,[35 1/2" H x 59" W x 18" D] is estimated at $1,500 - $2,000, a pair of French Art Deco "Leaf" Boudoir Chairs, the back carved in the shape of a leaf. The mahogany stained frame curves around the back and forms one arm for each chair. The front legs are carved in acanthus leaf design. [35" H x 32" W x 28" D] has an estimate of $700 - $1,000 and a Louis Majorelle Round Inlaid Table, Art Noveau two-tier French table. [23" H x 25" Diam.] has an estimate of $1,000 - $2,000.

In the contemporary art arena, Roland is featuring a Victor Vasarelly (French/Hungarian, 1906-1997) titled "KROA",Aluminum Sculpture,1970, A.P. edition, screen print in colors on anodized aluminum. Comes with CoA from Vasarely Center. [19 5/8" x 19 5/8" x 19 5/8"]. Estimate $4,000 - $6,000, an After Banksy: Girl w/ Heart Balloon - Mixed Media, Spray painted stenciled image of a little girl flying a heart-shaped red balloon, on a metal stop sign shape, in the style of Banksy. [29 1/2" x 29 1/2"]. One side with dents and damage. Estimate $1,500 - $2,500 and an After Banksy: Walking the Dog - Mixed Media: Spray painted stenciled image on metal of a figure walking a dog, below the word "BANKSY". [24" x 24"]. In good condition. Estimate $1,500 - $2,500

Silver pieces are also being offered, including a Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Flatware, 45 Pcs. sterling silver partial flatware service including 9 knives, 9 dinner forks, 7 salad forks, 2 dessert forks, 9 teaspoons, 9 soup spoons. Combined weight 80.3 ozt. Estimate $2,000 - $2,500.

After more than four decades based in Manhattan, Roland Auctions relocated to Long Island’s North Shore, the historic “Gold Coast” in 2018 where they also do auction consignments and offer appraisals.
