GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY in Glen Cove, NY is hosting their next auction on Saturday, December 4th at 10am, just in time for the holiday season, featuring an exquisite selection from the estate of well-known Manhattan gallerist Eleanor Ettinger, whose eponymous West 57th Street gallery opened in 1975 and became a fixture in the New York art world. Ettinger was dedicated to the exhibition of representational art and later opened additional galleries in Chelsea and Soho.

Previews for the December 4th auction will be held Thursday, December 2nd and Friday, December 3rd from 10:00AM to 6:00PM at Roland Auctions NY. Items being offered from Eleanor Ettinger’s estate will, of course, include art, contemporary bronze, silver and furniture.

As part of the same auction event, Roland will feature some important pieces of jewelry from other estates, including a Van Cleef & Arpels "Alhambra" Necklace - Authentic VC&A 20-motif necklace, rare rock crystal and 18K gold. Comes with Authenticity Certificate from 1985. Est: $18,000 - $24,000, a pair of Cartier Turquoise and Diamond Earrings. 18K yellow gold with oval and round turquoise stones, 17 cts. of fine diamonds, signed "Cartier, Paris". 2 1/2" L. Est: $25,000 - $35,000, a Faberge Egg Pendant, Red enamel and 18K gold, stamped "A.H." for August Holmstrom, stamped 56 for 18K gold. Est: $1,600 - $2,200 and a Faberge Egg Pendant, stamped "K, 56" for 18K gold, with clear quartz. Est: $1,200 - $1,600.

Some highlights from the Eleanor Ettinger estate will include a David Heunergardt "Equus" Bronze sculpture mounted on a dark green marble base, signed, edition 1/4, accompanied by a 1977 receipt from the Damon Runyon-Walter Witchell Cancer Fund, NYC, and a typewritten letter signed by Gallery Director Marilyn L. Metzger. Provenance: From the Estate of NYC Art Dealer and Gallerist Eleanor Ettinger, owner of The Eleanor Ettinger Gallery. [19" H x 14" W x 6" D]. Est: $1,500 - $2,000, Paul Wunderlich (1927 - 2010) Minotaur, Bronze sculpture in 1977 limited edition #257/2000, comes with a detachable penis in a box, accompanied by a promotion booklet with production specs. Provenance: From the Estate of NYC Art Dealer and Gallerist Eleanor Ettinger, owner of The Eleanor Ettinger Gallery. [30 1/2" H x 7 1/2" W x 6" D]. Est: $1,500 - $2,000, a Miguel Berrocal "Il Cofanetto" Dining Set, Complete service for 2 in casket-form classic Berrocal sculpture form. Inclusive of flatware, goblets, 2 rings, serving pieces, etc. With accompanying book. From the Estate of Eleanor Ettinger. [7 1/2" H x 6" W x 7" D] Est: $2,000 - $2,500 and a pair of Joseph Hoffman "Cabinett Fauteuils " arm chairs, having black lacquer square frames with red upholstery all around. Other items from the Estate of Eleanor Ettinger are an Antonio Lopez mixed media on paper, Jerry Hall in pink and black Oscar de la Renta dress with bouquet, signed lower middle, matted on board, accompanied by book "Antonio's Girls" with text by Christopher Hemphill, Congreve Publishing, NYC, 1982. Provenance: From the Estate of NYC Art Dealer and Gallerist Eleanor Ettinger, owner of The Eleanor Ettinger Gallery. [Art: 22" H x 30" W; Frame: 31" H x 39" W]. Est: $2,000 - $2,500 and a 4 piece Gorham Sterling Tea & Coffee Set, Gorham sterling silver set includes teapot [10" H], coffee pot, creamer and covered sugar, in "Plymouth" pattern. 62.2 ozt. inclusive. In the furniture arena, Roland is offering a fine Italian Rococo Period Bombe Commode, Fruitwood, kingwood and parquetry inlaid bombe commode, with fine bronze mounts, Naples, circa 1760. [37" H x 34 1/2" W x 25 3/4" D]. Est: $4,000 - $6,000, an Art Deco-Style Contemporary "Duke" Bar by Ralph Lauren, with removable drinks tray. [48" H x 56" W x 19 1/2" D]. Est: $2,000 - $3,000 and a Vintage Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair , 1958, upholstered in Gray Kvadrat Pebble upholstery. [42" H x 34" W x 29" D]. Est: $2,500 - $3,000. Featured in Fine Art is a Frederick McDuff (American 1931 - 2011), Figural Landscape- Oil on canvas of figures on a beach landscape, signed lower right, by Frederick McDuff.
