VANCOUVER.- Vancouver Art Gallery welcomes Broek Bosma to the new position of Chief Advancement Officer and Director of the Vancouver Art Gallery Foundation. Bosma takes up this new role on November 29, 2021.
Bosma brings over two decades of progressive leadership experience in fundraising and relationship building across a variety of non-profit organizations including Orchestra London Canada, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
Most recently, Bosma was at St. Pauls Hospital Foundation where he served as Chief Development Officer. He worked closely with the foundation board members and executive leaders to create and execute a $225 million comprehensive campaign for the new St. Pauls Hospital at the Jim Pattison Medical Centre. Bosma also oversaw all the fundraising teams including Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Corporate Donations, Planned Giving, Events, Campaign Team and Major Gift Research Team.
In his new role as Chief Advancement Officer, Bosma will be building on the recent success of the Gallerys capital campaign. Bosma will be responsible for all the Vancouver Art Gallery Associations advancement initiatives, as well as providing coordinated leadership to the Vancouver Art Gallery Foundation, a separate corporate entity dedicated to raising and stewarding funds for the Vancouver Art Gallery. The two roles will report to the CEO of the Vancouver Art Gallery Association, Anthony Kiendl, providing cohesive oversight to all advancement initiatives.

Broek studied music at the University of British Columbia and at Zurich University of the Arts before working as a conductor for almost a decade. After graduating with an MBA from the University of Northern BC, Broek transferred his leadership skills to the non-profit sector where he continues to engage with the community.
