CHICAGO, IL.- The Richard H. Driehaus Museum announced today that Anna Musci has been appointed as the Museums Executive Director, effective May 1, 2021. Musci joined the Museum in 2016 holding multiple positions including Director of External Affairs, and since January 2020 has served as the Museums Interim Executive Director. Incoming Board president Zachary Lazar, a Senior Vice President and Regional Director-Midwest for Capital Group Private Client Services in Chicago, has been a Trustee of the Museum since July 2019, and also served as the chair of the Boards Finance Committee. Lazar steps into this role following the death of Richard H. Driehaus, the Museums founder, in early March 2021.
We are so delighted that Anna has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Driehaus Museum, said Zach Lazar, President of the Museums Board of Trustees. When Anna took on the interim role in early 2020, none of us knew what lay ahead. As the pandemic forced the closure of our building and the interruption of our long-scheduled programming, Anna very effectively led the Driehaus Museum team in adapting to the changed circumstances, bringing forward a series of virtual programs that were both smart and fun, while working out the logistics to support our reopening. More recently, with the loss of Mr. Driehaus, Anna has been instrumental in working to support our celebrations of his life and legacy, of which the Museum is a major part. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to thank Anna for her outstanding leadership.
Anna Musci came to the Driehaus Museum after a career engaged in building new businesses in banking and wealth management and advising private clients, family offices, nonprofit organizations, and corporations in wealth accumulation and estate planning strategies, including as a financial advisor for UBS Financial Services and Oppenheimer & Company; and as business development and client service strategy liaison to investment banking, private banking, and lending divisions of Alex. Brown & Sons and LaSalle Bank.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Musci has a demonstrated interest in giving back to her communities: she is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Chicago, where she has held numerous advisory, committee chair, and board positions; a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals; past Committee Chair for Chicagos Old Town Art Fair; past Board member of Famous Door Theatre Company; past Advisory Board member of Chicago Lights tutoring program; and Recording for the Blind volunteer. Musci holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Marys College of Notre Dame, Indiana and Rome, Italy.
