LONDON.- Christie's announced two unique collection sales, The Roger Federer Collection - Sold to Benefit The RF Foundation - The Live Auction taking place on 23 June at Christie’s London, and The Roger Federer Collection - Sold to Benefit The RF Foundation – The Online Auction open for bidding from 23 June to the 13 and 14* July.

Both sales comprise Roger Federer’s personal sporting memorabilia collected over the duration of his professional tennis career to date. The lots offered recognise and celebrate the career and sporting success of Roger Federer, and the auctions are taking place to raise funds specifically for The Roger Federer Foundation.

Roger Federer comments, ‘Every piece in these auctions represents a moment in my tennis career and enables me to share a part of my personal archive with my fans around the world. More importantly, the proceeds will support The Roger Federer Foundation to help us continue to deliver educational resources to children in Africa and Switzerland.’

The Roger Federer Collection - The Live Auction comprises 20 prestigious lots, each signed and celebrating one of Roger Federer’s 20 record-breaking Grand Slam tennis titles. Estimates range from £3,000-£70,000, and the sale will take place in Christie’s King Street, London. In January 2018, Roger Federer became the first male tennis player to win 20 Grand Slam titles. Each lot in The Live Auction represents an iconic moment from either the Australian Open, the French Open, The Championships Wimbledon or the U.S. Open.

Highlights include:

(Lot 13), the outfit and racket from Federer’s famous victory over Robin Söderling at the French Open in 2009 (estimate £50,000-70,000), including his clay covered shoes.

(Lot 10), the outfit and racket from the second of the famous trilogy of Wimbledon finals that Federer played against Rafael Nadal in 2007 (estimate £30,000-50,000), including his tournament shoes on which Swiss flags denote the years of his previous Wimbledon victories.

(Lot 17), the ‘RF’ cardigan and racket from his victory over Andy Murray in 2012, (estimate £40,000-60,000).

The Roger Federer Collection – The Online Auction comprises 300 lots charting Roger Federer’s career from the early days of the Sydney Olympics in 2000 to matches which took place in 2021. Lots represent matches against Federer’s greatest rivals including Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Agassi, Roddick and others. The sale has been curated to appeal to Federer fans around the world and Roger has personally expressed his wish to include accessible estimates starting from £100. Approximately 300 lots include tennis rackets signed by the Swiss icon interspersed with shirts, caps, wristbands, towels and a famous Wimbledon blazer.

Bertold Mueller, Managing Director, Christie’s Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa comments, ‘It is a great privilege for Christie’s to offer this magnificent memorabilia of historic importance on behalf of Roger Federer, an active sporting legend, to support his philanthropic endeavours focused on early education in Southern Africa and beyond. The match objects will bring back fond memories to us all and provide a unique opportunity for Roger’s global fans to own a part of his outstanding, two decades long tennis career. The sports memorabilia market has been booming for years, in particular for match-worn and signed pieces. The auctions will no doubt be a milestone in this ever-growing, worldwide phenomenon.”
