Best Long-Lasting Flowers

You can never go wrong with a great alignment of flowers in an interior, mainly when there is spring outside. Many flowers can add a little bit of style and sophistication to a drawing-room, dining hall, or even a bedside table.

Ok, does it ever happen to you that you spend all the day picking out a lovely bouquet to bring your home, or you clip some beautiful flowers from your garden to enhance the beauty of your home, but after just a few days, they’ve all started to wilt and shed petals. Yes, sadly, flowers don’t last for a long time. And there is nothing more sorrowful than busting your cash on a beautiful bouquet only to have them look like droopy chaos just after a week.

The good news is, there are limited types that tend to survive longer than others. If you're sick of being frustrated by arrangements that droop after few days and need fresh flowers for your home without spending your hard-earned money again and again by replacing them every few days or so, the next time you're looking for flowers, look for the varieties that have a longer vase life than others. Here we’ve made a list of the longest-lasting florals. From orchids and zinnia to Alstroemerias and lilies, you’ll be glad to discover some of your favorites on our list.To help you consider your options, scroll through the all-inclusive collection to find which flowers are famous for their long-lasting attribute.

1. Zinnia:
Zinnias are easy-maintenance, demanding minimal struggle and care to grow. They also take less maintenance on vessels. While primarily considered as filler instead of other blooms of a bouquet, zinnias have a long lifespan than all other blooms. If you change the water after few days, they can last for approximately a month, looking as beautiful and fresh as the day they were brought home.

2. Orchids:
Orchids are undoubtedly charming, graceful and have long been seen as a symbol of prosperity, making them an elegant and stylish addition to any arrangement. Some of its varieties, i.e., Cymbidium orchids, vanda orchids, and phalaenopsis orchids, all outrank other flowers in longevity. Naturally, they will last two to three weeks when looked after properly. They tend to do even better when placed in a cool room. They are very vulnerable to ethylene gas discharged by fruit and will droop far more efficiently if subjected to it. They look anaglyptic and classy at the same time when placed in a simple vase. With the proper care, they can last up to 14 days.

3. Chrysanthemums:
This well-known fall flower is also the best option for bouquets because the blooms can survive without being decayed for almost 14 days. It offers many colors and petal shapes, comprising button mums, anemone, spoon, pompon, etc.

4. CALLA LILIES:
If calla lilies are one of your favorite flowers, then you must know this is another best choice to consider. Let me tell you the praiseworthy thing about these flowers; if you are one of those with minimum time on your hands for water changes and stem trims, these are for you. It was observed that, with proper care, they could last up to a few weeks or for a month. Plus, they're present in a diverse range of colors.

5. Eucalyptus:
The silvery-blue leaves of eucalyptus gunnii make elegant filler for vases and bouquets. Its charming circularleaves provide shape and quality that mixes well with a floral display. Eucalyptus has amazing vase life, generally lasting more than three weeks, and is mostly the 'last surviving member' in a bouquet or vase!

6. Rose:
Indeed, a list of long-lasting flowers would be incomplete without talking about the classic and superior rose. You have to select varieties cautiously to make sure the prettiest forma and long-lasting stems. Roses from the garden might outrank other roses as they are so fresh. What you have to do is to cut the stems and then immediately soak them into water. Well, It is up to you to choose your favorite type of rose, but overall they can last 7 to 10 days. If you want to give your loved one a bouquet on his/her special day to make them feel special, check out the grand collection of long-lasting flowers at Empress Flora, where expert florists try their best to design your elegant bouquet and add a touch of sophistication by using only flowers having most extended lifespans.

7. Alstroemerias
They are also called Peruvian lily. Do you know, there is hardly any bouquet that doesn't have at least one or more alstroemeria stems? They seem to be a mirror image of lily. They grow many flowers on every stem, which helps to style an entire, adorable flower arrangement. Generally, every single flower can remain fresh for almost 7 days, but since every branch has several blooms, a bunch of alstroemerias will last for a maximum of two weeks in a vase. Lilies look-a-like are available in various bright and fantastic colors and are elegant for adding beauty to a floral display. They are naturally thirsty flowers, so they need proper care, and you should replace the water after few days.

8. Carnations:
These charming but straightforward flowers are trendy for a reason. That is, they come in a wide range of colors and are economical to boot. They can last for almost 21 days. Make sure to remove underlying petals and leaves that can get popped on the container’s water because it will cause them to decompose, which will end up adding bacteria to the water.
