WEST SUSSEX, UK.- A breathtaking journey into the world of two leading visionary artists is to be unveiled at a landmark exhibition where form and colour work in harmony to delight the senses and enrich the mind.

The enchanting works of internationally renowned sculptor Ginger Gilmour and esoteric artist Ioannis Antoniadis are to go on public display in a dramatic showcase – Esotera: Visions of Beauty - at the Chequer Mead Arts Centre in East Grinstead, West Sussex, from Sunday 12 May to Wednesday 18 May.

Watched over by an elegant 7ft suspended sculpture, famously dubbed the ‘Angel of the South’, the exhibition seeks to lift the viewer to a place of tranquillity and peace by awakening the creativity dormant in all of us.

Combining the effortless beauty of Ginger’s sculpture with the vibrant wonder of Ioannis’ ethereal paintings, the curtain raising event marks a timeless moment in the power of artistic expression to enlighten the spirit and move the soul.

Ex-wife of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, Ginger has come a long way since the Rock-n-Roll years of the 60s and 70s and now creates sculptural works of breathtaking scale that evoke feelings of joy and inner peace.

Ginger said: `For many years I have been working to create an exhibition which incorporated large metaphysical paintings of an ethereal quality with sculptures that explored the same world where light, colour and form create a space that encourages feelings of contemplation and serenity.

She added: `My intention is for our work to uplift, heal and nurture the viewer in a way that expresses the archetypal power of art to touch the heart with beauty.’

Now the mother of four is collaborating with visionary artist Ioannis Antoniadis to realise this vision.

Born in Thessalonica, Greece, Ioannis arrived in London in 1990 after spending two years in army service to study the philosophies and teachings of the East, ancient Greece and Egypt.

Inspired by his studies, Ioannis began to process his experiences of a country deeply divided by the pain inflicted by civil war and dictatorship through archetypal symbology and is now becoming a rising star in the world of esoteric art after exhibiting extensively in the UK and Greece.

Describing his passion for painting, the forty-one year old said: `As I look deeper into a frame of blank canvas I feel like I am looking into a luminous white world. The more I look the more I feel that a transformation takes place. My mind becomes a visual prism translating white light into an infinite number of possibilities, colours, ideas, feelings and forms.’

Ioannis added: `We called this exhibition ‘Esotera: Visions of Beauty’ because Esotera means ‘inner world’ from the Greek word ‘Eso’ and the Latin word ‘terra.’ This is the path we all take in the magic act of creativity, which has the power to re-awaken and stir the soul. The exhibition aims to build a dialogue between colour, shapes, and texture in order to stimulate and, ultimately, set the imagination free.’

The news also comes at a time when Ginger Gilmour is to donate a sculpture to the British Red Cross’s pioneering initiative, Art for Humanity.

More than a hundred works from leading UK artists will be auctioned at a glittering gala in October, London, with the proceeds going towards the organisation’s humanitarian aid work across the world.
