Bonhams announces the expansion of its North American presence, with the appointment of Cailin Broere as new Regional Consultant for Vancouver and Western Canada. She joins her counterpart, Kristin Kearney, Director of Bonhams Canada, based out of Toronto. Broere takes up her new post with immediate effect.
Cailin Broere brings over 15 years of art market experience with her to Bonhams. Most recently, for ten years she excelled as a Hong Kong-based art consultant, working internationally with commercial galleries, art fairs, and both private and corporate clients throughout Europe and Asia. She has traveled extensively and organized numerous public and private exhibitions and curatorial projects, with clients including the Mandarin Oriental and the British Consulate of Hong Kong. She joins Bonhams with an expertise in a range of categories including Contemporary Chinese art, Modern & Contemporary art, Prints & Multiples, among others. Broere began her career in London, where she received a Masters from Sothebys Institute of Art in London, following a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and International Affairs from The Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Kristin Kearney initially joined Bonhams as Business Manager in Canadian art sales in 2007. She has worked on significant sales in New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong. Since 2013, she has served as both Jewellery Specialist and Director of Business Development in Canada. She has been Director of Bonhams Canada since 2017. Kristin holds a Master's of Art Business from the Sothebys Institute of Art in London, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queens University, Kingston Ontario and a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.
As Bonhams Regional Consultant in Vancouver and Western Canada, Broere will work alongside Kearney in business getting, promoting sales, providing buyers and sellers across Western regions of Canada with pre- and post- sale assistance and increasing Bonhams brand awareness within Canada.
