EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND.- The Scottish National Portrait Gallery presents Our Highland Home: Victoria and Albert in Scotland, on view through Sunday, 5 June, 2005. This exhibition explores Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Alberts love affair with Scotland. Their early journeys to Scotland, including visits to Dalkeith Palace, Taymouth Castle and Dumbarton will be examined as well as their time spent at Balmoral, to which they formed a deep attachment.
Complementing the exhibition Monarch of the Glen: Landseer in the Highlands at the Royal Scottish Academy Building, Our Highland Home: Victoria and Albert in Scotland will draw on material from the collections of the National Galleries of Scotland, the Royal Collection Trust, and many public and private collections throughout the United Kingdom.
