ON MUSIC : Tim Rollins + KOS.
|
WASHINGTON, DC.- The Kreeger Museum presents ON MUSIC : Tim Rollins + KOS, on view Saturday, April 9 to July 31, 2005. The Kreeger Museum is proud to be part of a movement bringing the extraordinary Tim Rollins + KOS to the Washington area public alongside shows at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and FUSEBOX. Most of the works on view at The Kreeger are the results of recent and very fruitful collaborations on musical themes. The Creation, inspired by Haydn's work of the same name , is the centerpiece of the print portfolio. This is set in context by works from the late eighties and nineties drawing on musical inspiration as varied as Strauss, Duke Ellington and, most obliquely Franz Kafka's novel Amerika. In this significant work on loan from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the imagery of fantastic golden horns unites a collective musical voice representing a social and cultural utopia.
