COLOGNE.- Artsy continues to support the art market in 2020 with online-only editions of canceled in-person art fairs, and is proud to announce that it will exclusively present on Artsy this year’s postponed editions of Art Cologne and Cologne Fine Art & Design. The online-only 2020 editions of each art fair will take place on Artsy, the leading online marketplace for buying and selling art by leading international artists, from November 18th until November 29th. The shows will include each art fair’s full exhibitor list with a combined roster of more than 200 participating galleries.

Art Cologne is not only the oldest art fair in the world—the storied show is among the top three most important to take place in Continental Europe, and it is the premier art fair in Germany. Art Cologne’s April 2020 edition was postponed until November this year due to COVID-19 to coincide with Cologne Fine Art & Design. Both editions are now exclusively online on Artsy in place of in-person events following new lockdown measures coming into force in Germany. The fair’s decision to exclusively host its shows on Artsy inaugurates a partnership between this historically important art fair and premier brand—and its sister fine art and design show—and Artsy.

Commenting on the partnership, Dustyn Kim, Artsy’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: “Art Cologne’s decision to partner with Artsy is a milestone moment in our relationship and a gesture of great faith in our ability to drive success for the fairs and their exhibitors. We’re honored to be working with them and look forward to bringing the works from these world-renowned fairs to our nearly 2 million art collectors and enthusiasts the world over.”

Daniel Hug, Director of Art Cologne and Cologne Fine & Design, added: “Artsy has proven to be a reliable partner with innovative ideas. As our primary online media partner, I am thrilled with the online platform Artsy was able to put together for Art Cologne on such short notice. I believe it's important to use all channels available, to cooperate in transitioning a physical fair to an online fair platform.”

Originally founded in 1967 by the gallery owners Hein Stünke and Rudolf Zwirner as the ‘Kunstmarkt Köln ’67’, ART COLOGNE is today one of the most important international addresses for exceptional and high quality art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Leading international galleries from countries around the world come together annually and present a broad offering of modern and contemporary works in all price segments and movements by more than 2,000 artists.
