How to Sync Files in Windows 10?



Have you ever lost any files saved on your computer owing to different reasons, such as, virus attack, file system error, system crash, disk failure, sudden power failure etc. Then, you may spend much time and money in recovering your data, but finally the operation may fail.

Step 1. Launch AOMEI Backupper Standard and click “Sync” to access the sync homepage. Then, click “Basic Sync” among three options in the following pictures.



Step 2. Click “Add Folder” and “This PC” to find your local data and select whatever you want to sync.



Step 3. Click the inverted triangle at the right side and click “Select a cloud drive”. Then, in the Select Cloud page, Click “OneDrive” and “OK” to continue.

• You can also use Dropbox and Google Drive as the destination storage.

• If you want to sync folder to network drive or between computers, you need to click “Select a network location” and add network location to access them.

Step 4. To automatically sync files, click “Schedule” and select daily/weekly/monthly. Finally, click “Start Sync”.



Notes:

• Don’t modify the source folder name, otherwise your folders will no longer be synchronized.

• The scheduled basic sync only sync newly added files and modified files, but you can choose to sync deleted files by ticking “Options” and “Sync the deletions in the source directory to destination”.

• This software currently is one-way file sync software, therefore only changes made in the source directory can be transferred to target directory.

As you know, OneDrive has a desktop application, so you can use it to sync your files or folders through its desktop folder. It’s the simplest way that all users can understand.

Step 1. Click the search button on the taskbar and type “onedrive” in it. Then, select onedrive from the result list.

Step 2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Step 3. Click “Next” at “This is your OneDrive folder” window. You can see the default location of OneDrive folder in this page, but you can still change the location by clicking “Change location” link.



Step 4. Then, in the “Your OneDrive is ready for you” interface, click “Open my OneDrive folder” to access the desktop folder.



Step 5. Copy and paste files or folders you want to sync into the folder. Then, it will be synchronized to onedrive.com and other devices logged in with same account.

Notes:

• By default, OneDrive only sync files in the three main folder, including Desktop, Documents and Pictures.

• OneDrive requires human intervention when syncing files, and does not support schedule sync settings.
