HONG KONG.- Phillips announced the expansion of its international Jewellery team with the appointment of Paul Redmayne as Head of Private Sales, Jewellery. Mr. Redmayne will play a key role in developing and expanding the Jewellery department’s private sales and business development efforts, alongside managing relationships with many of the world’s top jewellery collectors.

Mr. Redmayne joins Phillips from Bonhams, where he was the Head of Sale, Jewellery, based in Hong Kong. Before joining Bonhams, Mr. Redmayne was the founder of a luxury and retail advisory company in Hong Kong, with a specific focus on high net worth individuals, advising clients on strategy and brand entry into Asia. He also accumulated extensive retail experience from some of the most prestigious international high jewellery brands including Harry Winston, Piaget, Cartier, Moussaieff and Fred Paris under the LVMH Group in London and Paris.

Graeme Thompson, Worldwide Head of Jewellery at Phillips, said, “We are delighted to have Paul join our team as we continue building a world-class Jewellery department across the globe. Private sales are an increasingly important part of Phillips’ business and Paul is well suited to take on this important role with more than two decades of experience in the jewellery industry. Combined with his retail experience and exceptional track record serving clients, his business acumen perfectly complements our growing team of specialists around the world.”

Paul Redmayne, Head of Private Sales, Jewellery, added, “I am delighted to join Phillips in this role which allows me to bring together over 20 years of client relations and experience from the luxury retail and auction arena. Phillips was a logical fit for me: it has the drive, appetite and vision to aggressively expand its operations into the Private Sales sphere and with 23% growth year on year from 2018 to 2019, I look forward to contributing to the continuing success of the Jewellery department.”

The development of the Jewellery department is part of Phillips’ significant expansion in recent years. Last year, Graeme Thompson joined Phillips as Worldwide Head of Jewellery and appointed Alexis Vourvoulis as Senior Specialist based in Los Angeles. The jewellery department has an experienced team of specialists across New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Taiwan and London.
