Littlejohn Contemporary presents a group show at Bedford Playhouse
A portion of the proceeds from sales of artwork in this exhibition will benefit future programming at the newly renovated Bedford Playhouse.

BEDFORD, NY.- Littlejohn Contemporary is presenting a group show of artworks by several of its gallery artists at Bedford Playhouse, Bedford, New York, January 6th through March 1st, 2020. A wine and cheese reception will be held on Thursday, January 16th, from 6pm until 8pm.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of artwork in this exhibition will benefit future programming at the newly renovated Bedford Playhouse. Bedford Playhouse, home of the Clive Davis Arts Center, is an exciting resource for the community…a destination where Westchester and Connecticut residents gather for film, music, art, and events – or just good food and drink. Its mission is to provide a vibrant, state of the art cinema, cultural center and community hub, featuring outstanding films, arts-related programming, educational offerings and a fun, welcoming space to relax and socialize.

Littlejohn Contemporary Art has more than a passing relationship with the town of Bedford and Northern Westchester. Not only does the gallery’s owner, Jacquie Littlejohn, have long-standing client relationships in the area but her sister, Tracy Fauver, and family have made Bedford their home for the past twenty years. Tracy is very active in the community and now that her children are away at school she has expanded her activities with Littlejohn Contemporary and fine art.

Established by Jacquie Littlejohn in the Soho district of New York City in 1984, Littlejohn Contemporary Art, Inc. relocated to NYC's Fuller Building on 57th Street where it remained for thirteen years before moving to Chelsea from 2011 until 2019. After 35 years of mounting exhibitions, representing artists, and developing careers, the gallery is now primarily in online capacities as well as occasional pop-up shows at various locations. This includes the expanding program of informal salon-style presentations at the home of Jacquie’s sister, Tracy Fauver, in Bedford, NY as well as other venues such as the upcoming group exhibition they will be presenting at Bedford Playhouse. Tracy keeps a rotating inventory by select gallery artists at her home to show clients in the Northern Westchester area while Jacquie now keeps her inventory in Wilton and Weston, CT.

Like Jacquie, who received her degree in fine art at the Rhode Island School of Design, Tracy got her degree in fine arts and photography, after which she spent sixteen years at Ralph Lauren Home in product development, marketing and international licensing. Tracy sees her current collaboration with Littlejohn as a way to marry her interest in both art and interiors.

Besides mounting exhibitions, the sisters help clients incorporate art into their homes as well as guide the more avid collectors in building larger collections. Inexperienced art buyers find it especially comfortable getting acquainted with art in a home setting. The sisters want their clients to feel at ease and enjoy the process! Visitors to Bedford Playhouse will also get to spend time leisurely viewing artworks presented by the sisters while chatting over coffee, having a meal, waiting for a film to begin, or simply visiting to look at the art.

Littlejohn Contemporary’s aesthetic presents a variety of genres, including abstraction and allegorical narrative. The focus is on painting, mixed media, and photography by national and international artists—several of whom Littlejohn has shown for over three decades. A primary focus of the gallery is artwork that is inspired by nature. Littlejohn’s artists stand out for the quality of their craft, uniqueness of vision, and thought-provoking contributions to the contemporary art world.
