ICT Suites: The Plethora of Advantages it Offers

The current generation of education is focused primarily on one key aspect – digitalization. Everything around us incorporates the application of technology in one form or the other, and where better to equip the millennial with the right set of technical knowledge than school? The incorporation of ICT suites in any educational institute has almost become a mandatory feature to ensure that students are optimally equipped to tackle any form of digital-based tasks, and of course, to make the process of learning even smarter and more efficient as well.

The investment in setting up an intuitive ICT suite plays a significant role in any standard education institution simply due to the dynamic nature of benefits it offers on a practical scale. ICT suites deal with three essential digital domains – Information, Communication, and Media. All these three aspects play their fair share of role in enhancing the learning experience of the students by helping them utilize and implement the key concepts of technology and their real-world application.

If you haven’t already initialized the process of setting up ICT suites in your educational campus, here are some of its compelling benefits to ensure you of its usefulness and significance, especially in the present context.

1. Enhances the degree of engagement
The current generation of kids is not intrigued by anything more than technology. Their eyes sparkle up, and their concentration level increases 10 X fold at the sight of an iPad or smartphone. And, that particular aspect of attention grasping and boosted focus is what ICT suites help you harness out of the students (for educational purpose, obviously!). When a generous dose of technology is integrated with the usual study lessons, the process of gaining information becomes a little more intuitive and exceedingly less intricate as well.

This is primarily because technology provides an infinite number of possibilities to make the procedure of learning more fun and interesting, as opposed to the monotonous delivery of the same lesson plans every day. However, the more intriguing aspect of ICT suites is that it encourages productive engagement between the students, or with the teacher as well, which is an extremely hard feat to achieve using the conventional teaching method.

2. Improves the retention capacity of the students
The rudimentary causes of students’ poor performance in weekly tests or annual exams can all be traced back to one specific factor – inadequate retention capacity. They might as well be listening to your lectures with optimum concentration and focus, but the ineffective and rather dull delivery of materials in class means they cannot preserve that information for long. Integrating technology to enhance your lesson delivery is probably the best way to ensure the students conserve all that information for a much more extended period of time.

The implementation of technology automatically enhances the level of interest and concentration that students invest in learning those specific lessons or topics. This, in turn, enables them to remember what they study for a longer duration, which ultimately helps them perform better in tests and exams as well.

3. Make learning fun and enjoyable
There is an endless number of physical and physiological factors that affect the learning efficiency of students in a particular classroom. However, all those factors, in turn, depend on one fundamental characteristic – fun. If a student is having fun while learning new things, the automatic result is a much more improved and enhanced learning experience, and that is precisely what ICT suites are designed to provide.
There are numberless ways you can use technology to teach students where they can actually have fun learning new topics. This is especially true if you want to teach kids mathematics, or just any subject remotely associated with numbers.

A case study published by a renowned education institute revealed that students using iPads performed 20% better than their classmate counterparts who did not.
