MILAN, ITALY.- Italian Carabinieri stand guard in front of La Scala opera house in Milan 07 December 2004, during the official inauguration for the reopening of the restored opera to its former glory after a sumptuous 61 million euro (81 million dollar) makeover. Italian screen icon Sophia Loren and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will be among the 2,000 invited guests to hear maestro Riccardo Muti conduct "Europe Revealed", the opera with which the house was inaugurated 226 years ago.
