LENS, FRANCE.- French Prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin (L) holds the poster announcing that northern French town of Lens has been selected as the site of an annexe to the Louvre museum in Paris, as part of a plan to culturally and economically boost neglected parts of the country, accompanied by Lievin deputy-mayor Jean-Pierre Kucheida (2nd R), and Lens mayor Guy Delcourt (R), 29 November 2004 in Lens, northern France. The announcement followed a months-long search for a suitable location in the gritty, post-industrial region near the Belgian border for the construction of what is being called Louvre II. Poster reads " The louvre in lens, Culture is part of our nature".
