BEIJING.- China Guardian Auctions Co. Ltd, starting November 6th to the 9th, will be holding the 2004 Autumn Auctions at the Beijing Kulun Hotel. The Chinese painting and calligraphy section is divided into Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, Modern and Contemporary Paintings and Calligraphy (1 and 2), Fans Paintings, Collection of Fine Works -- Modern and Contemporary Paintings and Calligraphy, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy of Wisteria House, with a total of over 1360 fine art works.

Year 2004 marks the centennial of Fu Baoshi. This time we manage to recruit a great variety of Fu Baoshi's work, including "Yun Zhong Jun and Da Si Ming" -- magnificent both in size and in vigor. The fine collection also includes a delicate and detailed draft of "Characters of the Nine Songs"; two mesmerizing landscape paintings; the misty and poignant "Thousand Miles of River"; and a painting that emits an otherworldly serenity -- "Portrait of Lady Xiang." Including said paintings, a total of twelve Fu Baoshi's charming works serves as a token of memorial towards this superb artist.
