BERLIN.- The high level of the exhibitors was rewarded by a top-class audience. The fantastic results achieved by numerous galleries at
paper positions berlin, which has just come to an end, confirm this.
Maus Contemporary from the US was able to sell several works by Berlin-based artists Felix Becker and Mafalda Figueiredo to German, Belgian and Portuguese private collections at the opening. Representing many exhibitors, Friederike Meyer from the Golestani Gallery in Düsseldorf drew the following conclusion: "Almost all buyers were new customers. We are enthusiastic about the large number of new contacts that we were able to make at the art fair." The young artist Hell Gette, shown by Golestani, was honored with the paper positions award by .rka Rechtsanwälte at the opening. Several of Gette's works found their way into private collections in Berlin during paper positions berlin. International galleries such as Slag Gallery from New York, Galerie Szydłowski from Warsaw, Ronewa Art Projects from Berlin/Bangkok, Māksla XO from Riga, Triangle Art Space from Tel Aviv and Salon Vert from Geneva were also enthusiastic about the large number of sales.
For many galleries, paper positions berlin proved to be not only commercially very successful this year, but above all a Berlin art fair format with a sensational and affluent audience. On the contrary: Berlin was able to assert itself self-confidently as an art metropolis with a growing collector scene!
As the only art fair in Berlin parallel to the gallery weekend, paper positions berlin attracted over 10,000 visitors, who were able to convince themselves of an extraordinarily broad spectrum of high-quality works on paper in a wide variety of price categories. The preview and opening alone attracted over 3,000 visitors. During the four days of the fair, a total of 48 galleries from 11 countries presented their most striking current positions in contemporary and modern art on with and out the medium of paper including many new and rediscovered works of art.
