LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.- The Los Angeles Art Show will take place from October 15 to October 17, 2004 at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Air Center. Opening Night Gala for LACMA kicks off weekend of events for LA's largest art fair. Area museums, juried show and special exhibits create community celebration. The Los Angeles Art Show is considered one of the most prestigious annual expositions in the United States. Over 10,000 attendees will experience $50 million worth of fine art from fifty-five of the world's best art and photography dealers showing vetted, collectable work from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, promising something for everyone-from the beginning to the advanced collector.
It will also feature: on site presence from numerous museums and media; juried show featuring work of artists from The Brewery, the world's largest art colony; Symposium Series featuring prominent art historians, interior designers and notable collectors; 'Vignettes' showcasing the pairing of art and furniture; Site specific installations; including a 'lightpainting' by artist Stephen Knapp.
