Czajkowski joins the ROM from the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), where, most recently, she held the position of Vice President, Learning and Audience Engagement.

TORONTO.- Josh Basseches, Director & CEO of the Royal Ontario Museum announced today the appointment of Jennifer Czajkowski as Deputy Director for Engagement. In this role, Czajkowski will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies that deepen and enhance the Museum experience for visitors of all ages.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Jennifer Czajkowski to the Museum,” said Basseches. “Jennifer’s extensive leadership experience in interpretive programming, learning, and audience engagement will play a vital role in our ongoing mission to create rich and inspiring experiences for our visitors, as well as deepen the relationship between the Museum and the communities we serve.”

Reporting to the Director & CEO, Czajkowski will work with ROM senior leadership to define and facilitate the Museum’s strategies for expanding public engagement. In this role, the Deputy Director for Engagement will have oversight of exhibitions, gallery experiences and interpretation, public programs and events, K-12 and adult learning, and community engagement. Czajkowski will work collaboratively with the ROM’s various departments and subject matter experts to shape and develop unique, content-rich experiences reflective of a 21st century museum.

Czajkowski joins the ROM from the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), where, most recently, she held the position of Vice President, Learning and Audience Engagement. In her various leadership positions at the DIA, Czajkowski’s contributions not only led to increases in public participation and school visits, but also helped transform the institution into a leading education and resource centre, and community hub.

“The ROM is an amazing, wonder-filled place in a remarkable city,” said Czajkowski. “I am delighted to join with the staff and the Museum’s many communities to demonstrate how engaging and truly relevant a contemporary museum can be.”

Czajkowski is joining the ROM at a dynamic time as the Museum charts a new course for the future, developing and delivering high-impact programs and exhibitions in art, culture, and nature to audiences at home and around the world.
