HONG KONG.- Christie's Spring 2026 Hong Kong Luxury Week live auctions of jewellery, watches, handbags, and wine concluded on 28 May 2026, achieving a market-leading total of HK$957,754,530 / US$123,687,197, with 95% of lots sold and a hammer price 130% over the low estimate. Notable results and competitive bidding across categories reaffirm Christie's market leadership and reflect robust momentum in the global luxury collectibles market, with total sales up 32% year-on-year. Overall, Christie's Luxury Sales in Hong Kong have achieved a running total exceeding HK$1 billion / US$140 million in 2026 to date.

The Luxury categories continue to attract strong global engagement, driven by Greater China, which recorded a 24% year-on-year growth in value contribution, followed by Southeast Asia, where spending doubled year-on-year. Passionate participation was seen in-room and online. New buyers and bidders remained a driving force, with Millennials and Gen Z representing over 50% of new buyers.

Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau Part V - The Final Part realised a total of HK$36,851,250 / US$4,703,443 and was 100% sold by lot, with a hammer price to 129% over the low estimate, underscoring the strength of the fine wine market in Asia (read the newsflash here). The top lot was six bottles of Henri Jayer, Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1995 which sold for HK$1,312,500 / US$167,519, nearly tripling its low estimate. Marking the series' remarkable finale, 'Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau' has achieved a combined total of HK$274,979,750 / US$35,299,899 across Parts I–V, establishing it as the most valuable wine collection ever sold at Christie's globally.

Handbags & Accessories | 25 May

Christie's continues to lead the Handbags & Accessories market, following the Spring 2026 live sale which set a record Spring season total of HK$59,940,190 / US$7,652,061, up 17% year-on-year. This also represents the highest total for the category globally this season (read the newsflash here). The sale was 98% sold by lot, with a hammer total 156% over the low estimate, and 70% of lots exceeded their high estimates. Younger collectors remained a driving force this season, accounting for 41% of total buyers. Four world auction records were set, including a Faubourg Birkin (HK$4,318,000 / US$551,243); a Rainy Days Faubourg Birkin (HK$3,746,500 / US$478,284); a Quelle Idole (HK$2,794,000 / US$356,687); and a shoulder Birkin (HK$1,905,000 / US$243,195).

Magnificent Jewels | 26 May

Christie's Magnificent Jewels live auction achieved a market-leading HK$581,499,900 / US$74,207,005. The sale was 90% sold by lot, with a hammer price 129% above the low estimate, driven by spirited competition across all bidding channels (read the newsflash here). 'The Ethereal Jadeite Necklace' – comprising 61 perfectly matched jadeite beads – sold for HK$200,200,000 / US$25,548,143, standing as the most valuable masterpiece sold in Asia in Spring 2026 across categories. Top-tier jewels in the sale spanned jadeite, coloured and colourless diamonds, gemstones, natural pearls, and jewels from renowned maisons, reflecting the breadth of collecting tastes across Asia and Christie's unrivalled expertise in sourcing for the category (read the list of the top 10 lots sold here).

Important Watches: Featuring "Kronos: Titans of Time", "The Eternity" and "The Chronicle" Collections | 27 – 28 May

Spanning two days, Christie's Important Watches: Featuring "Kronos: Titans of Time", "The Eternity" and "The Chronicle" Collections live sale totalled HK$279,463,190 / US$35,663,779, up over 40% year-on-year. Overall, the hammer price was 129% above the low estimate and 93% of all lots sold (read the newsflash here). The sale was led by an extremely rare double-dialled Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002P-001 from 'Kronos: Titans of Time Collection', which multiple bidders vied for and eventually sold for HK$14,164,000 / US$1,807,543, setting a new Christie's record for this reference. The Watches sale smashed six world auction records: a F.P. Journe Black Label “Parking Metre”; Patek Philippe references 5951/500P and 5004G-013; a F.P. Journe Octa Divine 36mm Pink Gold Movement; a Harry Winston & Vanney Halter Opus 3 Model; and an A. Lange & Söhne Ref. 808.030.
