Countdown to election day, auctions get presidential on Bidsquare
Abraham Lincoln White House China, Salad Plate from First Service in Cowan's Auctions' American History Auction on November 18, 2016 with an estimate of $8,000-12,000.

NEW YORK, NY.- As the days count down until the election, America's next president is on everyone's mind. Potus, Flotus and Americana memorabilia come to Bidsquare just in time to remind Americans of their presidential history and traditions.

Starting in the White House kitchen, Cowan's Auctions brings White House China to auction. The "Solferino" or "Royal Purple" service, as it became known, was ordered by the First Lady, Mary Todd Lincoln, from Messrs. E. V. Haughwout & Co. in May of 1861 during a shopping visit to New York City to purchase furnishings for the White House, as well as a formal dinner service. "Solferino", a rich puce color, had been made fashionable by the French in about 1859, and Mrs. Lincoln perpetuated the vogue by employing it liberally in the interior decoration of the executive mansion. The service was delivered to the White House on September 2, 1861, and numbered 658 pieces, including a dinner service of 190 pieces, a dessert service of 208 pieces, and a breakfast and tea service of 260 pieces. The total cost was $3,195.

Brunk Auctions features First Lady photographs among other Flotus and Potus memorabilia in their online auction, Presidential & First Ladies Election Sale.

Circling back to Lincoln, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers puts a presidential seal on their upcoming Fine Books and Manuscripts auction with a signed document from Abraham Lincoln. The partially printed document signed "Abraham Lincoln" is on engraved vellum from Washington on April 7, 1863. The document comes framed and matted, with facsimile photograph of Lincoln and an engraved plaque. The document is embossed with the Presidential seal affixed in the upper left.

Artists take the liberty of putting their touch on presidential portraits in Clarke Auction's upcoming sale. Salvador Dalí puts a surrealist spin on Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln in Dalivision. Up close a viewer sees an intimate painting of Dali's wife, step back, a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Peter Max gave John F. Kennedy some vibrant color in his serigraph, Four Kennedys.

Rago takes fine art and Americana one step further with George Deem's George Washington Quilt from 1970. The quilt comes from The artist Allan Stone Collection, New York, and was exhibited in George Deem: Quotations, Allan Stone Gallery, New York, January 8 - February 21, 2009 and Promoting the President: In Celebration of Washington's Birthday, Hudson River Museum, New York, February 7- May 17, 2015.

James D. Julia provides some sparkle for Americans wanting to show off their pride when heading to the polls. A Lalaounis 18kt Diamond Eagle Pin with textured 18kt yellow gold and a diamond eagle in flight grasping a diamond pave set white gold orb is in James D. Julia's upcoming auction, Important Rare Lamps, Glass & Fine Jewelry. The eagle is finished with a single ruby eye, pin and safety clasp.
