BERLIN.- Dr Uli Panitz, a German art collector, acquired a group of works by Jenny de Bloot for $5,675.70 dollars at a flea market. The works could now sell for around $13.2 million dollars. The collection includes 2,264 paintings and sketches that were in the artist’s three studios after she died in 1994.
The family of the artist gave the works to a Berlin market trader and thought they were not worth much. That’s when Dr. Pani found them and bought them. Dr. Panitz stated he will open a museum with the works by this artist born in Berlin and also privide them for a book about this artist. Jenny de Bloot is considered an important 20th century artist. Her paintings are featured in important galleries around the world.
