BOISE, ID.- The Boise Art Museum announced that it has concluded its national search and selected Nicole Herden as BAM's Curator of Art.
Nicole holds two master's degrees; a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Arizona State University, where she was also the recipient of the prestigious Eirene Peggy Lamb Graduate Fellowship and the Curatorial Windgate Charitable Foundation Fellowship, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts from Boise State University. Nicole earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the University of Arizona.
Prior to being employed at the Boise Art Museum, Nicole was the Curatorial Assistant of American and Western American Art at the Phoenix Art Museum and the Curatorial Assistant of Contemporary Art at Arizona State University Art Museum.
Her early museum experiences include internships in education and registration at the Phoenix Art Museum and in curatorial work and registration at the Boise Art Museum. For the past two years, Nicole has gained invaluable knowledge of the Museum's Permanent Collection and curatorial processes as BAM's Registrar. Nicole succeeds Sandy Harthorn, who will be retiring at the end of the year after 39 years of service to the Boise Art Museum.
