LOS ANGELES, CA.- Bonhams announces The Elegant Home, the first in a series of sales that will offer a collection of furniture and decorative objects carefully curated to reflect a lifestyle of luxury and refinement. On December 7-8 at Bonhams Los Angeles, the sale will feature a fine selection of paintings, furniture, silver and decorative objects spanning the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

“From opulent curves to traditional classic lines, the auction will offer a mixture of design eras and styles that should attract serious collectors, top designers as well as private individuals looking to refresh their interiors in a sophisticated style” said Andrew Jones, newly appointed U.S. director of furniture and decorative arts at Bonhams.

The Elegant Home: Select Furniture, Silver, Decorative and Fine Arts will include property from prominent consignors and West Coast estates, from San Francisco to Beverly Hills. Property from the private collections of Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, Sugar Ray Leonard, Diahann Carroll, Merv Griffin and from the estate of PGA Champion golfer Ben Hogan, are among the highlights.

• A highly important Italian carved marble figural group: Shooting Stars, Vittorio Caradossi (Italian, 1861-1918), late 19th century (estimate U.S. $250,000-$350,000)

• A pair of Irish George II style mahogany consoles, possibly by Hicks of Dublin, late 19th century (estimate U.S. $30,000-40,000)

• An important Baccarat crystal and silvered bronze elephant vase, circa 1880 (estimate U.S. $25,000-$35,000)

The Elegant Home: Select Furniture, Silver, Decorative and Fine Arts will be previewed at Bonhams Los Angeles Dec. 4, 12 p.m.-5 p.m.; Dec. 5, 12 p.m.-5 p.m. and Dec. 6, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The catalogue is online.
