Keno Brothers 'Rolling Sculpture' inaugural auction in New York brings $8.3 million
1968 Bizzarrini Strada 5300 sells for $1,010,800 (including BP) and marks North American record for a Bizzarrini Strada 5300 at auction in the U.S. during Keno Brothers Fine Automotive Auction in NYC.

NEW YORK, NY.- When Keno Brothers Fine Automobile Auctions created its ‘Rolling Sculpture’ debut exhibit for its NYC auction last week, they brought in a team of world renowned experts. This served to validate the authenticity and transparency associated with the Keno Brothers name and its collection of 40 vehicle offerings – reinforcing the brand’s credibility as the Keno Brothers themselves segue from arts and furniture to fine automobiles -- while achieving more than $8.3m (including buyer’s premium) in auction and post-auction private sales for the inaugural event, as guests enjoyed the museum-like ambiance and luxurious environment.

According to Keith Martin, publisher of the venerable Sports Car Market, the entire evening at the Skylight in Clarkson Square Soho was first-rate from start to finish. Martin noted the many influential members of the collector car community present, including past winners of the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, along with serious collectors from France, Germany, England and other countries.

“The Keno Brothers have shown serious intent to be players in a competitive market – with every indication that their artistic and elegant style will precede each upcoming new opportunity,” said Martin.

Amidst a very full house with a ‘gallery’ emphasis, Keno Brothers Fine Automobile Auctions sought to break new ground in how an auction is presented -- utilizing a rich multi-media experience to tap the imagination of the packed house with roughly 1,500 attendees -- creating a first impression for the Keno brand that was defined by an elegant salon setting and the courage to explore new methodologies.

Leslie Keno, Co-CEO of Keno Fine Automobile Auctions, stated that the intrinsic value of each lot was amplified due to the amount of research conducted and provided transparently -- an area in which he and his identical twin brother take great pride. “We’ve assembled a world-class team of specialists for each marque, including well-known historians, to provide the provenance of each car with as much clarity as possible,” said Leslie. During the viewing period several of these top experts were on hand as ‘Keno Consultants’ to meet and educate bidders, offering historical context on a personal level.

Not only was Valentino Balboni, legendary Lamborghini test driver, available to speak to potential bidders and guests on specific offered vehicle history and condition, but the Brothers also worked closely with Ferrari Preservationist Enrique Senior of the Senega Museum Collection, in gathering new historic reports from Marcel Massini, renowned expert on Ferrari history and Ferrari restoration.

Co-CEO Leigh Keno added that “the company’s transparency remains by providing all original authenticating reports for each vehicle to potential and winning bidders at the point of sale, with ongoing information to be delivered to the buyer as new reports emerge” – a trait they intend to maintain in all future auctions – the first of which will mark Keno Fine Automobile Auctions as the official auction house at the Elegance of Hershey in June 2016.
