NEW YORK, NY.- Collectors, curators, and book aficionados have hailed the 17th edition of the Editions/Artists’ Books Fair – organized by The Lower East Side Printshop for the second year - as a tremendous success. Over 50 international publishers and dealers presented innovative works by hundreds of artists over the course of the three-day Fair, which drew an impressive crowd of over 6000 visitors.

“The Fair was a resounding success,” said Curator Jeff Bergman, “I was overjoyed with the exhibitors and the fair as a whole. E/AB remains singular in providing the public with access to art and artists. Curators and collectors flocked to the opening and lectures, artists and printmakers visited in droves and students and educators explored the fair as the foundational resource it is.”

Exhibitors reported robust sales and strong interest from major museums, corporate collections and private collectors alike. Avid collectors including Micky and Katie Cartin, Michael Stipe, Jordan D. Schnitzer, Janice Oresman, and advisors including Lacey Doyle, snatched up works throughout the course of the weekend. Glenn D. Lowry (Director, Museum of Modern Art), David Kiehl (Whitney Museum of American Art), The Metropolitan Museum’s Nadine Orenstein (Chief Curator), Jennifer Farrell (Associate Curator) and Holly Phillips (Assoc. Manager, Acquisitions) were all enthusiastic about the works on view. Other curators included Roberta Waddell, Marilyn Symmes (Zimmerli Art Museum), David Platzker (MoMA), Elizabeth Wyckoff (St. Louis Art Museum), Nancy Sokja (Detroit Institute of Arts), Lisbeth Lurey (Nelson Atkins Museum Kansas City), Shannon Stratton (Museum of Art and Design), Dennis Michael Jon (Minneapolis Institute), Stephen Phillips (Federal Reserve), Katherine L. Blood (Library of Congress), Kristin Spangenberg (Cincinnati Art Museum), Shelley Landgale (Philadelphia Museum of Art), Suzanne Boorsch (Yale University Art Gallery), Ayesha Williams from Lincoln Center's Vera List Program, and Sarah Reisman of the 8th Floor Foundation.

As well – exhibiting artists were out in full force - Kiki Smith, David Altmejd, Derrick Adams, Ryan McGinness, Jane Hammond, Matthew Day Jackson, and Glenn Ligon frequented.

“We are thrilled with the response! Opening night drew 30% more attendees over last year and the energy and enthusiasm continued throughout the weekend,” said Dusica Kirjakovic, E/AB’s organizer. James Stroud of Center Street Studio said, “This is the best venue ever. Everyone is given equal attention and the single aisle ensures that visitors don’t miss anything.” Master printer Susan Oehme said she was impressed with how inquisitive visitors were and noted that the, “phenomenal caliber of work on view – combined with the strong attendance and serious collector interest, made this Fair a true stand out,” - a sentiment was echoed repeatedly by artists, curators and collectors alike.
