OMAAHA, NE.- Joslyn Art Museum announces the appointment of Dana E. Cowen as the Museum's new associate curator of European art. Cowen comes to Joslyn from Cleveland, where she recently completed her Ph.D. in art history at Case Western Reserve University.

Cowen has had a long association with the Cleveland Museum of Art, where she was involved with the 2012 Rembrandt in America exhibition and curated the recent exhibition, Dürer’s Women: Images of Devotion and Desire. She began work at Joslyn on February 2.

“Joslyn is recognized internationally for its collection of nineteenth-century European art, and Dana will further the connections between these important holdings and our audiences. Her experience with European art in the areas of exhibition and collection planning is key to bringing renewed attention to our remarkable collection.

Additionally, her enthusiasm for the development of new interpretive strategies, including the use of technology, and opportunities for the public to engage with European art make her an excellent addition to Joslyn’s curatorial staff.”
