LONDON.- Contemporary African gallery Kamba Fine Art will exhibit for the first time at the MULTIPLIED Art Fair at Christie’s this October. MULTIPLIED 2014 is the fifth installment of the UK’s only art fair dedicated to contemporary prints and editions, and takes place during Frieze Week, one of the key periods during the international contemporary art calendar. Kamba Fine Art will present work by contemporary artists Natalie Bikoro, Damiola Adasole, Emmanuel Ekoro, Eric Piña. Mario Macilau, Ingrid Baars and Kofi Allen.




Also on the agenda for Kamba Fine Art this autumn/ winter is an exhibition of African Contemporary artists at Ozwald Boateng’s iconic Savile Row shop. Kamba Fine Art has curated a bespoke exhibition for Ozwald Boateng, featuring unique pieces by artists including; Kofi Allen, Ambrice Miller and Ingrid Baars.

Kamba Fine Art was established by Leyla Simple in 2011. Leyla travels Africa extensively looking for promising new talent, and provides the artists she discovers with a platform to exhibit their work at different venues and art fairs around the world. Recently she has exhibited at the Tribal Art Fair in London, and The Parcours des Mondes in Paris, and has plans for pop up exhibitions in cities across the globe.  

Before setting up the gallery in Mayfair in 2011, Leyla was an art dealer and interior designer who utilized some African art pieces in her schemes. She continues to sell tribal art through the sister gallery.

Kamba Fine Artis located in the Grays Centre in the heart of London’s Mayfair, and exhibits the finest in contemporary African photography, paintings, sculpture and limited edition prints. The gallery runs an innovative programme of exhibitions both on and off site throughout the year, and participates regularly in international art fairs.

Kamba Fine Art encourages the development of contemporary art in non-Western nations, and supports emerging and established African talent. Their paintings and sculptures are valuable documentations of the social, political and cultural changes occurring currently in Africa. The gallery provides an experienced consultant service to guide art lovers, institutions and private collectors in the development of their African art collection portfolio.

The Gallery has teamed up with institutions and education centres across Africa to launch The Kamba Fine Art Prize, a competition open to contemporary art students, professionals and amateur artists between 18-30.
