CLEVELAND, OH.- This show features found photographs from private collectors and found photo dealers from around the country.

Vernacular photography is defined as "the creation of photographs, usually by amateur or unknown photographers both professional and amateur, who take everyday life and common things as subjects....Examples of vernacular photographs include travel and vacation photos, family snapshots, photos of friends, class portraits, identification photographs, and photo-booth images. Vernacular photographs are types of accidental art, in that they often are unintentionally artistic."

Found photography refers to the recovery of lost, unclaimed, or discarded vernacular photographs or snapshots. Found photos can be found at flea markets, thrift stores, garage sales, estate sales, or in the trash.

Robert Jackson from Seattle, Nigel Maister from Rochester, Stacy Waldman from Easthampton, MA, Erin Waters from Lancaster, PA and CPR's director, Shari Wilkins are all contributing found photographs to this show, with many more collectors loaning their work to CPR for this exhibition.

Exhibition contributors also have additional found photos for sale on display.

Cleveland Print Room is a non-profit community darkroom, educational center, studio workspace, and photographic gallery located in the Quadrangle arts district in the St. Clair/Superior neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. Housed on the first floor of the historic ArtCraft Building, Cleveland Print Room offers a place to process 20th century emulsion-based film and analog photography collectively with others who share a passion for the photographic arts.
