Finest And Rarest Wines Including A Magnificent Selection Of Henri Jayer Magnums From The Exceptional Cellar Of James H. Clark will be followed by the single-owner sale: A Magnificent Selection From The Exceptional Cellar Of James H. Clark in New York on 15 November. Mr. Clark is widely recognised as one of the earliest computer scientists of the internet age as well as a leading philanthropist and collector. The highlights of the collection include an impressive group of Henri Jayer magnums along with a selection of Italian and Rhône wines from the most prestigious producers: Gaja, Giacomo Conterno, Guigal, and Chave which together represent the greatest collection of wines from these areas ever offered by Sotheby’s Wine.

Mr. Clark is perhaps best known as the visionary founder of Netscape Communications Corporation in 1994, but his extensive entrepreneurial activities extended far beyond that groundbreaking company to include Healtheon, the firm that became WebMD, as well as a range of innovations in the field of computer graphics. In addition, Mr. Clark is a leading philanthropist having made significant gifts to Stanford University as well as a range of education, nature, and arts organizations.
