SAN ANTONIO, TX.- The Trustees of The Linda Pace Foundation announce that Arts Consulting Group, Inc. (ACG) has been engaged to provide interim management services with the appointment of ACG Vice President, Kathryn R. Martin as Interim Executive Director, effective September 2, 2014.

“This is an exciting time for the Foundation,” Rick Moore, President, Board of Trustees said. “We have big plans in San Antonio and Martin’s appointment is part of our strategic vision to continue to broaden our impact locally and around the globe.”

Martin will lead LPF; working with the Trustees, staff, and members of the community to leverage the opportunities that exist today. Martin is Vice President of ACG - the leading provider of hands-on interim management, executive search, revenue enhancement consulting, facilities and program planning, and organizational development services for the arts and culture industry - and has extensive experience in professional interim management, strategic fundraising and messaging, organizational effectiveness, action plan development and implementation, transition planning and mergers. She is known for her ability to bring groups of people together to reach common goals. An experienced arts manager, leader, and collaborator; Martin has over 25 years experience leading arts and culture organizations. Since joining ACG in 2003, she has helped numerous organizations strategically move through periods of transition; increasing their earned and contributed income by bringing clarity and focus to their efforts to advance their mission and goals.

“The mission and vision of the Linda Pace Foundation is stewarded and championed by trustees and staff who knew Linda personally,” said Martin from her home in San Diego, CA. “Working in this environment will be a tremendous honor, as we work hard to ensure the founder’s vision is realized in everything we do.”

LPF is committed to the charitable vision of its founder. Guided by Linda's conviction that contemporary art is essential to a dynamic society, LPF fosters the creation, presentation, and understanding of innovative expression through contemporary art. Grants support the operation of Artpace, CHRISpark, the public exhibition of Pace's contemporary art collection, and the work of contemporary artists.

This appointment is one of many LPF milestones:

• Continued major funding of Artpace, the internationally respected artist residency program that Pace founded in 1995.

• In addition to Artpace, LPF supports other arts organizations. In early 2014, LPF funded a scholarship named in honor of Linda Pace and her mother, Margaret Pace Wilson, at the Southwest School of Art. Additional grants were made to the Perez Art Museum Miami, The Contemporary in Austin, the Guadalupe Cultural Center, San Anto Cultural Arts, and others.

• Expanded CHRISPark, a one-acre jewel of a green space in Southtown that is the only privately maintained public park in San Antonio.

• Opened the SPACE gallery on April 17, 2014 in Pace’s former studio. The 2,000 square foot facility broadens the organization’s reach with regular public exhibitions of LPF’s collection.

• Presents artist talks by artists whose work is included in the collection.

• In 2013, LPF presented its first public artwork, Adam, by Venezulan-born artist Arturo Herrera, a more than 25-feet high and 98-feet wide wall painting located near Main Plaza in San Antonio.

• Meanwhile, with an eye to the future, LPF acquires new work for its extensive contemporary art collection, curates public exhibitions, and loans works to institutions around the globe.

• LPF continues to work with David Adjaye, an internationally recognized architect hired by Pace before her death in 2007, on a larger exhibition space and the development of contemporary art campus on Camp Street.

Martin will be onsite beginning September 2, 2014 to introduce an artist talk by Teresita Fernández, a renowned contemporary artist whose work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, at 11AM, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at SPACE. The talk is free and open to the public. Guests at her talk will walk through CHRISpark, located at 111 Camp Street, and view the Wednesday’s Child discs created by Fernández in honor of Pace’s son, Chris, who was born on a Wednesday. SPACE, formerly Pace’s artist studio, is now The LPF’s public gallery, and is located in the northeast corner of CHRISpark.
