ISTANBUL.- ArtInternational announced the selected works for By The Waterside, the fairs dedicated sculpture terrace spanning the length of the Haliç Congress Centers waterfront on Istanbuls historic Golden Horn.
A highlight of the inaugural edition of ArtInternational in 2013, By the Waterside consists of artworks approved by ArtInternationals selection committee from applications by the fairs participating galleries.
This year By the Waterside will include ten works by acclaimed artists including Benjamin Appel, Laurent Bolognini, Osman Dinc, Karl Karner, Ali Miharbi, Joan Miró, Keita Miyazaki, Steven Naifeh, Libia Castro & Ólafur Ólafsson and Jaume Plensa
Fair Director Dyala Nusseibeh said Im grateful to all the galleries and artists who are contributing to the diverse and exciting selection of sculptural works in By The Waterside this year. The works that will be presented range from a 2m tall Miro bronze through to Ali Miharbis hi-tech anemometer. Apart from creating an inspiring outdoor viewing experience for visitors, this section offers a new context for the artworks, which some of the artists and galleries have particularly responded to. For example, Steven Naifeh with Leila Heller Gallery, and Keita Miyazaki with rosenfeld porcini, will both show new works in their current series which have been created specifically for ArtInternational.
By the Waterside spans the length of the Haliç Congress Centers waterfront. The second edition of ArtInternational takes place from 26-28th September 2014.
