SAN ANTONIO, TX.- The Summer exhibit at Ruiz-Healy Art, Paper, Pencil & Ink: Prints & Other Works on Paper, melds the gallery's focus of Latin American and Texas-connected artists with the art of printmaking, another important aspect of the gallery program. Ruiz-Healy Art is a proud member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association, an organization that maintains the highest of standards for works on paper, and is one of only three such dealers in the state of Texas.

Paper, Pencil & Ink: Prints & Other Works on Paper highlights Modern Masters alongside Texas Contemporary Artists working in collage, drawing, and a variety of different printmaking techniques. Constance (Connie) Lowe was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and lives and works in San Antonio. She received an MFA from Western Michigan University (1979) and a BFA from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX (1973). Her current mixed media works combine influences of her Midwestern farming heritage, landsat photography, and the legacy of geometric abstract painting with the physical presence of materials such as felt and leather.

Victor Vasarely, a Hungarian-born French artist, was one of the founders of the op art movement. Vasarely developed his own geometric form of abstraction, which he varied to create different optical patterns with a kinetic effect, working in various materials but using a minimal number of forms and colors.
