PARIS.- Decorative Arts and XXth century Furniture, Contemporary Design, Tribal Arts and Curiosities, Contemporary Jewelry, Ceramics and Contemporary Glass : for the last 18 years, PAD has filled the Tuileries Gardens fair with the crème de la crème of french and international dealers.

At PAD PARIS 2014, exhibitors out rival each other to offer the visitor the most pertinent and exceptional selections in an eclectic panorama of the XXth and XXIst century Decorative Arts. Imagination and presentation : PAD contributes to the growing influence of the Decorative Arts through its exceptional selection process. The admission committee imposes demanding standards for each new exhibitor.

Innovating and stimulating : PAD supports young dealers. Following the revelation of the Galerie James in 2013, PAD is delighted to welcome five new exhibitors whose specialties illustrate PAD’s elegant eclecticism : in Contemporary Design, Torri (France) and SMO Gallery (Lebanon), in XXth century Furniture : Alexandre Guillemain (France) and in the Decorative Arts : Fitzgerald Fine Arts (USA) and Finch & Co (UK).

Among the highly anticipated standouts in the PAD 2014 edition, Modernity is bringing an ensemble of furniture by Carl Hörvik that was presented for the first time in France in the entrance hall of the Swedish pavilion at the Paris International Exhibition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in 1925, and Atelier DL will show a Baccarat black crystal vase making its debut on the market.

As it does every year, Moët Hennessy is underwriting the Prix de PAD Prize with a new donation to the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Presided over by President Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the jury, comprised of collectors, critics, curators, architects and interior architects, also designates the winner of the prize for the best Stand, the prize for the best Design and the prize for best example of the XXth century Decorative Arts.

HSBC, official PAD partner, confirms its creative engagement. Following Vincent Darré last year, Mathias Kiss will create the scenography of the HSBC salon. The decorator, who works on visual perception and confusion inherent in decoration and ornamentation, will present “HALF,” an immersive installation that reflects a complete environment in the tradition of the French “ensembliers decorateurs” of the 1930s and 40s.

Finally, to further provoke their curiosity, visitors will be welcomed at the entrance of PAD Paris by a kinetic sculpture of artist Laurent Debraux entitled “La Mare aux Fées” (from Tools Galerie).
