MONACO.- Dario Ballantini, one of the most famous character of the italian television, and great painter, arrives in Monaco, after the big success of « Identità Artefatte » in London, at the Art Moor House.

The career of Dario Ballantini is a succession of artworks telling the story of a painter who's looking to express the contemporary world's absurdity, through a personal interpretation of faces.

Faces as soul's mirror, faces as masks hiding truth and pain. It's not a coincidence that it was young Modigliani whom Ballantini met in Paris, that influenced the Artist the most.

Compared to Modigliani with his predominance of linearity and soft colors, color and instinct prevail for Ballantini. This is how he created his first paintings : first with a hint of cubist aesthetics, before gradually becoming closer to expressionism.

Works where a human face unveils itself along with the world of human emotions. It's hard to establish whether the emotions displayed by the colors of profound dark, passionate red and ironic yellow are those of the Artist or of others. The only thing that can be promised about the paintings is that they will evoke a variety of diverse states of mind. Which is what Ballantini was going for: analyzing the reality and transforming it into something that may seem different but is actually very similar from a semantic point of view.

Dario Ballantini, son of an artist, born in Livourne in 1964. He started exhibiting his artworks in Tuscany in 1985, alternating his career as a painter and famous imitator / transformist on Italian television. In 2012, in London, the exhibition « Identità Artefatte » has provoked great interest. A few months later, Dario Ballantini was invited to Cambridge University to talk to students about psychology and art: the two themes that represent different aspects of his dual personality. Througout his career, his exhibition reached the great galleries in Milan, Genoa, Verona, Turin, Naples, London …
