LONDON.- Wick Antiques, member of LAPADA the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers, is exhibiting a collection of 350 offbeat pieces at a Harrods pop-up exhibition until 30th April 2014. Situated in the Fine Furniture Gallery on the 3rd floor of the luxury department store, the collection was assembled with fellow dealer David Wackett. Pieces range from prehistoric items, industrial relics through to magnificent period pieces, unified by their intriguing appeal.

Do not be surprised to be greeted by an 7ft alabaster Art Deco sculpture, ancient fossils, famous motorcycles and a set of Black Forest carved bear dining chairs. “I only buy things I love and the items on show have all been selected for their charm, historical importance and outstanding workmanship. I find them simply amazing and believe they are some of the best on the market,” explains Charles Wallrock of Wick Antiques.

Two notable pieces are an outstanding billiard table made for the 1st Baron Blyth, Circa 1895 and an extremely intricate Flemish cabinet from Alton Towers, seat of Lord Shrewsbury, inlaid with hunting scenes and enchanting vignettes of cats and kittens.

"Having worked with Harrods for 23 years, I was delighted to be asked to put together a pop-up exhibition for the most famous store in the world. It is a great privilege so I really wanted to go to town, creating a wow factor exhibition with style and pizzazz, highlighting the quality of the pieces I have sourced from all over the world. We hope the exhibition continues to be a great success and that visitors to Harrods are inspired to embark upon an adventure of buying unique and beautiful works of art," says Charles.
