DALLAS, TX.- A George II silver gilt footed salver, made by David Willaume II circa 1743-44, from the Warrington Plate sold for $68,750 Nov. 5 at Heritage Auctions' $824,000+ Fine Silver & Vertu Signature® Auction in Dallas. Strong prices were seen through the auction which featured a wide range of Silver of exceptional quality, fresh to the market.

A highly-anticipated example of Chinese Export Silver, a two-handled covered figural standing cup, from the workshop of Shen Chang, sold for $22,500 to a Hong Kong buyer following action by 11 other bidders. The vessel's lid presents an elaborate dragon head final upon a dome with a swirling dragon, the cup with elaborate garden scene rests on a standard featuring a standing female figure accompanied by a child and a faun who stand on the stepped base.

"Interest in Chinese Export Silver continues to grow with increasing attention going to the finest crafted examples coming from the most prestigious workshops" said Karen Rigdon, Director of Fine Silver at Heritage. "The strong price for this cup made in the Shen Chang workshop shows the competitive nature of bidding for phenomenal examples."

Highlights included a Gorham Martelé silver and silver gilt vase, which took $21,250 and a pair of Paul Storr George III entrée dishes on stands sold for $21,250. A 123-piece Christofle French flatware service in the elegant Royal Cisele pattern more than doubled its estimate to end at $18,750, while a set of 12 Paul Storr George III plates, circa 1799-1800, closed at $18,750.

A pair of Tiffany & Co. figural vases, circa 1895-1896, weighing a combined 149.2 ounces, more than tripled its estimate to realize $18,750. Italian silver by Buccellanti proved popular as a set of 12 chargers brought $11,250, a set of six candlesticks, circa 1960, sold for $10,000 and a highly-detailed swan table centerpiece reached $7,812.

• A three-piece Guang Ji Chinese export tea service realized $8,750.

• A Shreve & Co. 14 karat gold and gold quartz match safe ended at $6,250.

• A Bell & Brothers coin silver cup made in San Antonio, Texas, circa 1865, brought a strong $5,937.

• A Walker & Hall Edward VII reticulated epergne, circa 1907-1908, closed at $5,937.
