SAN DIEGO, CA.- Today,
The San Diego Museum of Art announced the appointment of Dieter Fenkart-Froeschl as its new chief operating officer (COO). Fenkart-Froeschel will oversee the Museums internal operations and finances, working closely with Roxana Velásquez, the Museums Maruja Baldwin Executive Director. Fenkart-Froeschl begins his role on October 16.
Dieter was far and away the most exceptional choice for the Museum, said Velasquez. The Museum is experiencing significant growth with increased staff and expanded exhibitions, programming, and events. Dieters career focus and success managing not-for-profit organizations make him a critical addition to our executive team and to the continued growth of the institution.
Fenkart-Froeschl brings a background in managing non-profit organizations with an emphasis on overseeing operations and finance. Most recently, he served as the director of the operations division and senior director of the division of institutional advancement at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where he worked for nine years. Previous positions include analyst and associate at the Bank Austria Ceditanstalt, and senior program manager of the center for park management for the National Parks Conservation Association.
I am excited and honored to have been selected as the Museums next Chief Operating Officer, said Fenkart-Froeschl. I look forward to working in close partnership with Roxana, the Board of Trustees, the Museum's partners, and its staff to support the vision and further enhance the success of the institution."
