NEW YORK, NY.- Base Design, an international network of creative studios specializing in identity and design communications, announces the successful collaboration with Bureau A Architects on the visual identity of the renowned 47th Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Bases identity for the festival centered around 63 hand-drawn, neon lights developed exclusively for the the festival. The lights, which during the first two weeks of July served to guide the visitors through the lakeside strip, created a Chicago/Las Vegas-inspired dreamland. The lighting system, which after 47 years were in desperate need of a revamp, were hailed by locals and international attendees alike.
Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, the Montreux Jazz Festival has become event that is not to be missed by music fans, both in Switzerland and abroad. All of the music giants have performed on the festivals various stages, from Miles Davis to Ray Charles, and David Bowie to Prince. Jazz music may have constituted the Festivals historic roots, but other musical styles quickly found their place within the festival, sharing a common bond of musical curiosity and mutual enthusiasm. Distinguishing itself by its ambitious programming choices, for two weeks the Montreux Jazz Festival offers an ideal platform for musicians in an intimate setting.
