SAINT PAUL DE VENCE.- The Linda & Guy Pieters Gallery in Saint Paul de Vence is reopening on 24 July 2013 with an exhibition of three Belgian artists : Jan Fabre, Arne Quinze and Koen Vanmechelen.
In the garden sculptures of Jan FABRE, Guillaume BIJL and Wim DELVOYE will be presented.
Opening the Gallery in St Paul with Belgian artists is a well-considered choice and refers to the Belgian origin of the gallery, which was started by Guy Pieters 30 years ago in Knokke at the Belgian coast.
The Gallery has had a complete make-over: the exhibition room has been enlarged and a new team is ready to lead it.
Linda and Guy Pieters are particularly attached to the artistic village and wish to participate actively, as did other couples and personalities before them (like Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, Aimé and Marguerite Maeght, James Baldwin, Jean Nouvel etc.), in the unique charm of St Paul.
From Pierre ALECHINSKY to Joseph BEUYS, via CHRISTO, Wim DELVOYE or yet again Arne QUINZE, at the same time the dynamic character of the Gallery shows through the organization of several exhibitions outside its walls, which strengthen and sustain the visibility of the artists.
This Summer, the Gallery presents at the Côte dAzur where, besides the reopening of the Gallery, no less than three events are organized in collaboration with several cultural institutions. A first exposition of Arne QUINZE is held in the Musée dArt Moderne et Contemporain in Nice(from 20 April until 27 October 2013). In Cannes, a retrospective of FOLON is held in the Villa Domergue (from 14 July until 29 September) and lastly, the Gallery participates in the exposition of PICASSO in the Centre dArt de la Malmaison on la Croisette (from 22 June until 27 October 2013).
With this outstanding program, Linda and Guy show their desire to fully take part in the cultural life in the region and confirm their role as key players and as discoverers of contemporary art talents.
