NEW YORK, NY.- Sothebys Prints sale on 2 & 3 May 2013 will offer a stunning selection of prints by artists including Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Cy Twombly, Pablo Picasso, among others. The sale will be led by Edvard Munchs 1902 The Kiss IV (est. $200/300,000), coming from a Private American Collection. Also on offer is a complete book of Henri Matisses Jazz (D. BK. 22) (est. $300/500,000), comprised of twenty stencils printed in colors from 1947, accompanied by the original paper wrapper, boards and slipcase. A complete portfolio of Cy Twomblys Roman Notes (Bastian 21 26) (est. $250/350,000) consists of six offset lithographs printed in colors from 1970. Further highlights include Target (ULAE 147) by Jasper Johns from 1974 (est. $200/300,000) and Flowers (F. & S. 64 73) by Andy Warhol from 1970, comprised of ten screenprints in colors (est. $400/600,000). Among the eleven lots offered from the Hasbro Childrens Fund sold to benefit programs supporting children in need worldwide, highlights include Richard Diebenkorns Blue (est. $30/50,000) from 1984, a complete set of Barbara Krugers Untitled (We Will No Longer Be Seen and Not Heard) from 1985 (est. $18/24,000) and Frank Stellas Illustrations After El Lissitskys Had Gadya: Then Came a Stick and Beat the Dog from 1984 (est. $5/7,000).
