ZARAGOZA, SPAIN.- An Islamic city dating from the 11th century has been found in downtown Zaragoza while cosntrucion works were being held at the Independencia street, the most important one in Zaragoza. The city is two meters below the ground level. The traces of the streets of the old city are visible, as well as the entrance of the houses. The Sinhaya tribe (that came from North Africa) populated the area in the 11th century. This find confirms the importance of a cevilization that had more than 2,000 years of history. José Luis Corral, professor of Medieval Hiostory at the Zaragoza University, had announced the finding of these remains since the works started.
