WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.- In a unique curatorial twist, the
Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute will launch Race to the Remix, a 48-hour competition that will determine the third installation of the uCurate exhibition. uCurate is an interactive program that invites users to design their own installations for a Clark gallery, using works featured in Clark Remix, an installation of some 400 works from the Institutes permanent collection.
The race begins at 5 pm on January 18, 2013 and will conclude at 5 pm on January 20, 2013. The winning exhibition will open to the public on March 23, 2013.
When uCurate was launched earlier this year, the Clark announced plans to select three submissions for future installation in its exhibition galleries. The first, Giselles Remix, was created by eleven-year-old Giselle Ciulla after Clark curators reviewed more than 1,000 submissions; it runs through January 20, 2013. The second installation will be announced in early January and be on view February 2 through March 10. Race to the Remix represents the third and final installation of the uCurate series.
