SOPOT.- "Wobec horyzontu” – "Confronted with the Horizon” is Anna Szprynger’s most recent individual exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Sopot.

"When she started living in the seaside resort and walking on the beach every single day, the idiomatic landscape burst into her artistic world and has stayed there ever since. In no way is the experience obviously transferred directly to canvas, but it is strongly noticeable. Horizontal canvas stretchers and forms inspired by rain or other seaside spectacles of nature started to prevail. All this, however, has been meticulously transformed into the language of short lines typical of this painter. The impression is that they are, in a metaphorical sense, confronted with the horizon, the strongest line in the seaside landscape. This is to the least extent outdoor painting, and most definitely analytical work, intended for attentive individual contemplation.” – a description of the artist’s work by Bogusław Deptuła, curator of the exhibition.

Anna Szprynger (born 1982) graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin. She obtained a diploma with honours under the academic supervision of Prof. Grzegorz Dobiesław Mazurek and Prof. Tomasz Zawadzki.
